Requirements for a Digital Nomad Visa in South Africa?

South Africa has joined the growing list of countries offering a Digital Nomad Visa (DNV), which is an exciting opportunity for remote workers looking to explore life abroad.

What is a Digital Nomad Visa?

A digital nomad visa serves as a permit that allows you to live and work remotely in a foreign country for an extended period of time. This gives remote workers, freelancers, or self-employed individuals the opportunity to combine their professional lives with travel and relocation.

With the Digital Nomad Visa, applicants can live and work remotely in South Africa for a period of 36 months. This visa is ideal for employees and consultants of foreign companies who wish to reside in South Africa while working remotely.

But like any visa, there are specific criteria you’ll need to meet to qualify. Here we will outline the key requirements for South Africa’s Digital Nomad Visa to help simplify the process, ensuring your move is seamless and stress-free.

How to qualify for a Digital Nomad Visa

Applicants whose visa is issued for less than six months may qualify for an exemption from SARS registration.
