About June Luna

June Luna is an American national who moved to Cape Town in 2009. In 2012, she graduated from the University of Cape Town with her postgraduate LLB degree and commenced working in legal publishing. She later completed her articles of association with a boutique law firm and was admitted as an attorney in the Republic of South Africa shortly thereafter.

Throughout the last decade of exclusively practicing South African immigration law, she has successfully assisted thousands of persons from all over the world and of all ages to reside, work, study, invest and visit South Africa. She is well respected in the legal profession for her commitment towards her clients, her personable attitude, due-diligence, and her problem-solving skills.

June is managing partner of June Luna Attorneys Incorporated. She personally assists her clients in South Africa and abroad with all their immigration queries and applications, ranging from visitor visa extensions, permanent residency and South African citizenship.

June’s law firm has a network of legal experts in South Africa and abroad who know how to read through the lines and tell you exactly what is needed.

She also has extensive knowledge of the workings of the Department of Home Affairs and is therefore able to assist foreigners with a range of civil services, including the obtaining of ID books, passports, birth certificates, death certificates, marriage interviews and marriages as well as registration of foreign births.

Her experience working with home affairs on both a personal and professional level will give you the peace of mind that this road has been travelled before- and she knows what roadblocks, if any, are ahead in your immigration journey.

Meet The Team

John Tully

Irish-born John Tully moved to Cape Town, South Africa, some ten years ago, and throughout that time, he has been extremely fortunate to have had a variety of professional experiences in senior management and as a business owner. After COVID-19, when June Luna was looking for a general manager for her fast-expanding legal business, the chance to be part of the JLIA team presented itself. He seized the opportunity to join the team. His primary daily responsibilities include corporate governance, legal compliance, client intake, and specific case management, but if the opportunity presents itself, he also enjoys ‘sticking the boot’ to the Department of Home Affairs.

Danielle Okkers

Danielle, popularly known as Dani, grew up in the little town of Worcester. At the age of 19, she moved to Cape Town to learn more about the local community. She is incredibly knowledgeable about all administrative tasks. Due to her experience in the fields of accounting, business, and immigration, Dani can modify her skills to meet the needs of a variety of clients and situations. Because of her efficiency and laser-like focus on the task at hand, she will never be scared to take on a new assignment or a big list of “to-dos” due to her 17 years of administrative experience. Dani has gained more self-assurance and knowledge of not only immigration law but also the reality that everyone needs a helping hand, since joining June Luna Immigration Attorneys. She looks forward to developing inside this prominent boutique business and enjoys working with the rest of the team.
